Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus stunned World No.1 Iga Swiatek 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 to reach the WTA finals title match on Monday in Fort Worth, Texas.
Sabalenka overpowered Swiatek in the first set 6-2 but the Pole came right back into the game in the second set with an identical win.
With 12 aces to her name, Sabalenka regained her lost momentum in the third and final set to cruise past Swiatek.
Sabalenka will battle for the title against Caroline Garcia of France, who beat Greek Maria Sakkari 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinal.
